Janis Cook possesses a unique combination of human resources generalist experience, compliance expertise, and formal legal training.  Formerly a compliance officer for an employers’ association, she gained practical human resources generalist experience as the human resources director for two Boise, Idaho-based regional businesses, each with approximately 450 employees located in multiple states.

Her areas of expertise include management training and development, employment law compliance, executive coaching, employee relations, human resources process improvement, dispute resolution, organizational communication, curriculum development, and workplace investigations. 

Janis received her B.S. in Organizational Communication with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from the University of Utah cum laude. She received her law degree from the University of Wyoming and won the national title of American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition.  After law school, she served as a judicial clerk for the Chief Justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court.   She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and volunteers for several professional and community organizations.
